SereneQ Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone consisting of the first 29 amino acids of the 44-amino acid endogenous GHRH molecule. This N-terminal fragment retains full biological activity at the GHRH receptor. It was previously approved in the US as Geref for diagnostic use and for treating GH deficiency in children, though it was later withdrawn from the market for commercial rather than safety reasons. It stimulates the pituitary to release GH through the body’s own regulatory system rather than bypassing it with exogenous hormone.

What the research covers

Sermorelin research has examined GH stimulation in age-related decline, body composition changes with GH restoration, sleep quality (GH is predominantly secreted during slow-wave sleep), and recovery. Because it works through the intact pituitary-hypothalamic feedback loop rather than delivering exogenous GH, it is studied as a potentially more physiological approach — the pituitary retains the ability to respond to somatostatin tone, so GH levels cannot become supraphysiological in the way they can with direct somatropin. Studies in older adults have shown increases in GH pulse amplitude and IGF-1 without loss of pulsatility.

Where the evidence sits

Previously held regulatory approval in limited indications in the US. Clinical data exists but is older and mostly in specific populations. Not currently licensed as a medicine. Supplied strictly as a laboratory research chemical.

This is where SereneQ does things differently. Instead of lyophilised vials that need reconstituting and drawing up separately, the compound arrives pre-loaded in solution in a graduated injection pen with a dial and a dose window.

Handling and storage
