Description
SereneQ Thymosin Alpha-1
Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino acid peptide originally isolated from thymic tissue. It is one of the most extensively studied immunomodulatory peptides in the world, with a particular concentration of evidence in infectious disease. It is approved as a medicine under the name Zadaxin in over 35 countries — primarily for hepatitis B and C, as an adjuvant in certain cancers, and for immune reconstitution following bone marrow transplant. It is not approved in the UK or EU, but the evidence base is unusually strong for a research peptide.
What the research covers
Tα1 acts on Toll-like receptors (particularly TLR-9) and dendritic cells to enhance both innate and adaptive immune responses. It promotes T-cell maturation and differentiation, increases natural killer cell activity, and modulates the cytokine environment. In hepatitis B trials it increased rates of viral response and seroconversion. In cancer, it has been studied as an adjuvant to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. During the COVID-19 pandemic it received significant attention from Chinese and Italian groups who reported reduced mortality in critically ill patients in retrospective and small prospective studies — the evidence is preliminary but generated substantial interest.
Where the evidence sits
Approved in multiple jurisdictions for specific indications. Not approved in the UK or EU. The compound here is not pharmaceutical Zadaxin. Supplied strictly as a laboratory research chemical.
The pen format
This is where SereneQ does things differently. Instead of lyophilised vials that need reconstituting and drawing up separately, the compound arrives pre-loaded in solution in a graduated injection pen with a dial and a dose window.
- Thymosin Alpha-1 in pre-loaded solution
- Graduated dial with dose window
- 300 units total per pen
- 4 × sealed pen tips, 32G 0.23 × 4mm
- Batch number, expiry and serial printed directly on the pen barrel
Handling and storage
- Store refrigerated at 2–8°C. Do not freeze.
